Signing in with your work email (team seats)

When a company buys Punch List Pro for its staff, each person gets a seat tied to their work email address. You do not install anything special and you do not pay for anything. You sign in once with that address, on your own phone or a company phone, and Pro unlocks.

This article is for the person using the app. If you are the admin who bought the seats, see the enterprise deployment guide for adding people and managing the license.

Before you start

Your admin adds your email address to the company license on their account page. You get an email with the subject "[Your company] added you to Punch List Pro". If you have not received one, ask your admin whether your address has been added yet, and which address they used. You must sign in with that exact address.

Signing in

  1. Install Punch List from the App Store or Google Play, or update it if you already have it.
  2. Open Settings in the app, then Account.
  3. Tap Continue with Email and enter your work email address.
  4. We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it in the app.

Pro unlocks as soon as the code is accepted. There is no password to create or remember. You may see "Sign in" on the Pro screen as well; it leads to the same place.

On iPhone and iPad you can also tap Continue with Google if your work email is a Google Workspace account. Do not use Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email: Apple creates a relay address that does not match the one your admin added, so your seat will not be found.

What you get

  • Everything in Punch List Pro: PDF reports, digital signatures, watermark removal, and .pnch import and export.
  • Your own lists on your own device. Nobody else can see them, and signing in does not copy anything to your company.
  • Pro keeps working offline. The app checks your seat in the background about once a day and stays unlocked for up to 14 days without any connection.

The two-phone limit

One seat covers one person on up to two phones or tablets at a time, counted over a rolling 30 days. Most people never notice it. If you sign in on a third device, the device you used least recently is dropped the next time it checks in.

If you open the app on a device that was dropped, it shows Free. Open Settings, then Account, and tap Use Pro on this device. That device comes back and the least recently used one drops instead. If you change phones, sign in on the new one and the old one falls off on its own.

When your seat is not found

The app says you have no active subscription, or shows Free after signing in.

  • Check the address. Sign out (Settings, Account, Sign Out) and sign in again with the address your admin used. A personal address, an alias, or a department mailbox will not match.
  • Ask whether you have been added. Admins sometimes buy seats before adding people. The seat only exists once your address is on the list.
  • Ask whether you were removed. When a seat is removed, the app drops back to Free at its next check. The lists and photos on your device are untouched.
  • Still stuck? Email support@mypunchlistapp.com from the work address in question and tell us the company name. Please do not forward the 6-digit code.

Shared or kiosk devices

Some companies license shared iPads through their device management tool instead of by email. On those devices the app shows Licensed by [your company] in Settings and there is nothing to sign in to. If you also use the app on your own phone, your admin can add your email as well; the two routes work side by side.

Signing out

Settings, Account, then Sign Out. Your lists stay on the device; only Pro features lock until you sign in again. Sign out before handing a phone to someone else so your seat is not counted against that device.
