Common questions from IT and operations
- How does Punch List enterprise licensing work?
- You buy a number of seats. From your account page you add each person by work email, one at a time, as a pasted list, or from a CSV file. Each person gets an email, installs Punch List, and signs in with that address using a 6-digit code. Pro unlocks automatically. Remove someone and their seat frees up right away. For shared or kiosk devices with no single owner, your IT admin can instead push a license key through your MDM.
- Do we need an MDM?
- No. Named users sign in and take a seat by email whether or not their phone is managed, so personal phones (BYOD) work with no enrollment. MDM is optional: use it to deploy the app to a managed fleet, or to activate shared devices with the license key.
- Which MDM tools does Punch List work with?
- Any MDM that can push managed app configuration: Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro, Omnissa Workspace ONE, Kandji, Mosyle, Hexnode, and others. iOS and iPadOS deployments go through Apple Business Manager; Android deployments go through Managed Google Play. Some vendors on this list manage Apple devices only, so a mixed fleet may need a second tool for Android. Step-by-step guides for Intune, Jamf Pro, and Workspace ONE are available from our team.
- What does a crew member have to do?
- Install Punch List, open Settings then Account, tap Continue with Email, enter the address you added, and type the 6-digit code we email them. There is no password and no app store billing. On a shared device activated by license key, they just open the app.
- Does it work offline on the job site?
- Yes. Punch List works fully offline once activated. Devices only need to reach our servers for the initial license validation and a daily refresh, and Pro features remain active for up to 14 days without any connection.
- Can we pay by invoice or purchase order?
- Self-serve checkout by card covers 5 to 500 seats. For invoice or purchase order billing, or more than 500 seats, email enterprise@mypunchlistapp.com and we will set it up.
- What is included in an enterprise seat?
- Every seat unlocks all of Punch List Pro for one person, or one shared device: PDF reports branded with your organization name, digital signatures, photo annotation, watermark removal, and .pnch import and export for sharing between team members. It also includes email support and a data processing addendum (DPA) on request.
- Where does our project data live?
- On your devices. Punch List stores project data locally on each device, not in a vendor cloud. There is no Punch List server holding your project files, so there is nothing of yours to breach on our side. A DPA is available on request.
- Can we pilot it before buying seats?
- Yes. The app is free to download, so your team can trial the core workflow on real projects today. When you are ready to roll out Pro, buy seats and add your team by email. If you want help structuring a short pilot, email enterprise@mypunchlistapp.com.
