How to export your photos from CompanyCam

Step by step: downloading a whole project

1. Open the project in CompanyCam on the web.
2. Open the project's three-dot menu and choose Download All Photos.
3. Enter the email address the download link should go to.
4. Choose Original or Modified if the project has edited photos: Original is the untouched capture, Modified includes markups and edits. If your annotations matter for the record, note that this choice applies to the whole download.
5. Watch that inbox. The photos arrive as a zipped download link. Save the ZIP somewhere you control (local drive plus a backup) as soon as it lands, and open it to confirm the photo count looks right before moving on.
6. Repeat for the next project. The download is per project, so work through your project list one at a time.

For smaller pulls, the same help doc covers selecting individual photos with checkboxes (shift-click selects a range, and the checkbox next to a date header selects that whole day), then downloading via the Actions menu, and downloading a single photo from the three-dot icon on its thumbnail. On mobile, saving goes to your device's camera roll instead of email.

What to expect, honestly

• It is project by project, full stop. Nothing in CompanyCam's documentation offers an account-wide export as of August 2026. Forty projects means forty download rounds. A CompanyCam support reply, screenshotted in an April 2026 Google review, acknowledged as much: "There really isn't a very efficient way to download photos all at once."
• Budget real time for it. Do the export while your subscription is active and unhurried, not during a cancellation scramble. Start with the projects you are most likely to need for warranty claims, disputes, or client records.
• The Google Drive sync is a partial workaround, not an exit. CompanyCam's Google Drive integration mirrors photos into project folders on an ongoing basis, but per their own documentation it only covers projects created after you connect it; existing projects do not retroactively sync. Source: CompanyCam help: Integrate CompanyCam + Google Drive. Connecting it early is still worth doing: from that day forward you hold a second copy of every new photo.
• Verify before you cancel. Spot-check the ZIPs against the in-app photo counts, and confirm you grabbed the Original or Modified versions you actually need, while your account can still re-run a download.

The leaving-with-your-data checklist

1. List every project you need a record of, oldest first.
2. Run Download All Photos on each, and file the ZIPs by project name.
3. Spot-check photo counts and the Original vs Modified choice.
4. Export or screenshot anything that is not a photo (notes, reports) separately.
5. Back the archive up somewhere off your laptop.
6. Only then change or cancel the subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export all of my CompanyCam photos at once?

No. As of August 2026, CompanyCam’s help documentation describes downloading photos per project (a Download All Photos action that emails you a zipped link), per selection, or per photo. No account-wide export across all projects is documented, so if you have 40 projects, plan on 40 downloads.

Does the CompanyCam Google Drive integration back up my old projects?

No. Per CompanyCam’s own integration documentation as of August 2026, only projects created after you connect Google Drive sync to it. Existing projects do not retroactively sync, so the integration is a forward-looking backup, not a way to export your history.

Can I move my CompanyCam photos into Punch List?

The photos you download from CompanyCam are standard image files that belong to you, and you can attach any of them to punch list items in Punch List. There is no automated importer: Punch List starts each project fresh, so the practical path is to archive your CompanyCam downloads, finish active projects there, and start new projects in Punch List.
