Editing, reordering, and deleting lists

The Lists screen is the home screen of Punch List: one row per punch list, in the order you choose. Each row shows the list name, the project name if you set one, how many items the list has, and how many of those are still incomplete. That incomplete count is the fastest health check you have: a list showing 0 incomplete is ready for closeout.

Creating and editing a list

Tap the + button in the toolbar to create a new list. Besides the list name, a list can carry project details (project name, project number, company, consultant, client) that appear on the cover page of PDF reports, so it is worth filling them in once at the start of a project.

To edit those details later, open the list and tap its name. Changes apply to future PDF reports immediately.

Reordering lists

New lists are added at the end. To change the order, long-press any list row to enter reorder mode, then use the drag handles to move lists where you want them. Most people keep active projects at the top and finished ones at the bottom.

Deleting a list

Swipe left on a list row and confirm to delete it.

Deleting a list permanently deletes every item in it, including all attached photos. There is no undo and no trash folder. If there is any chance you will need the list again, export it first: a .pnch export contains the complete list with all items and embedded photos, and can be re-imported later on iOS or Android. See Exporting and importing punch lists.

A safer end-of-project habit: generate a final PDF report for your records, export the .pnch file as a backup, and only then delete the list from your device.
